Villa Longobarda is a magnificient country manor situated in the surroundings of Lucca, in an area where the Longobards have been dominating during IV century. Their influence is well visible in the property, with its "watching tower" overlooking the valley, once a strategic passageway to northern regions.
The villa has been carefully restored, keeping its original style, while a complete renovation of the appliances made it modern and suitable for nowadays comfortable vacations.

Wide spaces, the loving restoration of the antique furniture and of the original cotto tiles, the magnificient wood beamed high ceilings, the huge fireplaces, several hand forged iron works, the large garden, the beautiful view, the charming "Loggia", all gives to the visitor the "sense of grandeur" that the villa has always had during the centuries, where Tuscan noble families have settled their residence and where for a period a convent had been established.

The villa develops on three levels. On ground floor several living and dining spaces, and three bedrooms. A large hall with bricks vault opens onto the furnished garden with pergola to dine al fresco. A stone fireplace and an imposing dining area open to another outside space. Another large dining room is equipped with TvSat The beautiful antique kitchen is fully equipped with all modern appliances, as dishwasher, fridge- freezer, gas top cooker, electric oven and microwave. The table with marble top, the suggestive old stone sink and a useful laundry room complete the area dedicated to meals preparation.

The ground floor also features two twin bedrooms, which can be easily converted into double, one with bathroom with shower and one with Jacuzzi. One double bedroom is also available on ground level. All useful for elders or unable to use stairways.
On first floor, a charming large living room with a huge stone fireplace, sofas and armchairs and a TvSat. Another living room, a dining room, a study room and another living room with antique fireplace in the Tower, with a bathroom. The living room opens to the fantastic "Loggia",overlooking the valley, rich in charm and comfortable to dine outside, partially sheltered.

The second floor has strong wood beamed and cotto trussed ceilings, it displays a wide living room with a huge fireplace, The private area has 6 bedrooms, one with fireplace and all with ensuite bathrooms. some of which have a Jacuzzi. One bedroom has also another double bed on a side, so that it can be used as a 4 people suite.

The pergola outside is a charming place where to relax and take meals. The 9 x 3 mt pool used to be during the Renaissance a fish tank, then converted with the restoration into a lovely swimming pool with an antique fountain. Next to it a patio, furnished with sunbeds for a total relax.
The villa has a proper internet point for the guests, equipped with computers and connection.
The property has its private parking area.

The manager offers to the guests a welcoming buffet dinner, with wine included and another dinner, prepared by a chef, during the stay.
Included also daily bath linen change, twice weekly bed linen change, 4 hours a day cleaning except Sunday. final cleaning, gas, electricity.
The villa has floor heating system throughout, except for the tower, with traditional heating. Heating is not included and will be charged as per meter.
Internet connection to be charged as per use (ADSL not available in the area)

We recommed that the guests take sometime to visit the Lucchesia, with its other noble families residences and especially the medieval town of Lucca. To be recommended is also a taste to the local typical products, such as the extra virgin olive oil, the many DOC wines, the spelt and the chestnut flour, which was used instead of wheat and which is the main ingredient for the delicious cake "castagnaccio."
Banqueting, breakfast and cook service are available on the premises upon request, which can be therefore a unique occasion to try all the best Lucchesia resources.
