The ancient village of Castellone, in the beautiful Gulf of Gaeta, is very close to Formia, and is now considered part of it. Just 1,3 kms are needed to reach La Noce, from the mainsquare of the village through a suggestive itinerary on the mountain that so strongly characterizes the bay.
The place is easily reachable as a road has been built removing tons of hard stone, in order to be able to create an area of incomparable beauty and quiteness, where villas and apartments have breathtaking views. |
Needless pointing out that this place allows parking just off the small pedestrian gate on the road ending a few metres ahead, with no traffic and therefore no traffic signs!
The house, enclosed in a hairpin curve, is made on 3 levels. |

The underground level, where the daughter lives, is actually overlooking the road that, coming from down, after 20 metres turns around the gate of the ground level - where the owner lives - and leads to the mountain crossing the small pedestrian gate of the first level. So each apartment has its own privacy and place outside. |
A large terrace overlooking the town, the Gulf and further away the islands is the place where guests could enjoy the marvellous Mediterranean fish. They can buy it fresh in the open market of Formia.
From the private pedestrian gate a few steps down lead to the large private furnished terrace with access to the apartment. This terrace is sunshaded in the morning and it is definetely the best place to have breakfast.

The entrance door opens into the living room where a glass-bricks wall separates the small kitchen and where a small corridor leads to the master double bedroom with en-suite bathroom.
In the livingroom, a staircase (large spiral) leads to the Mansard where two twin bedrooms have their own small terraces (one has 2) and share one bathroom.
The apartment has independent A/C and heating. |
Guests can enjoy the best pizza in town, for only 3,50 euro, in a nice pizzeria, just under the ancient tower, right in the centre of Castellone. They will be pleased to experience a delicious "al fresco" dinner, served by kind young people.
The holiday at La Noce is the perfect vacation for those who love to relax, comfortably lied down on their deckchairs, letting their thoughts run free and looking at the horizon line down there. |
