Martin's Villa is a magnificent villa with a surface of 600 sqm
built in the 17th century in the "Rotolo", the most captivating
hamlet of Cava dei Tirreni, located in the mainland of the Amalfi-Sorrentine
peninsula, in the district of Salerno. Cava Dei Tirreni has its
origin in the 12th century and is today considered the door of the
Amalfi coast.
The hamlet appears like a balcony on the sea amidst the green hills,
with a romantic view on the Amalfitan Coast, enjoying the same pleasant
microclimate that makes of this place a complete picture for a pleasant
and relaxing vacation. |

It boasts of its wonderful panorama coloured by the green of the
mountains the blue of the sea, and by the view of the country houses
and the nineteenth-century residences. One km of good winding road
with an hedgerow of centennial plane trees wind off slightly climbing
from the town to the Prince Martin's Villa with the most blue sea,
and the fairy green summits of the Lattari Mounts as background
Prince Martin's is one - perhaps the oldest - of the villas built
by the Neapolitan Aristocracy during the Reign of Naples and before,
since the 15th century.
Located half mile from the town and 2 miles from Vietri Sul Mare,
start point of the Amalfi Coast, this property represents |

very good base to visit Amalfi, Positano, Sorrento, Salerno and
the Cilento, the off-the-beaten-track umpolluted southern district
of the Region with marvellous beaches, abbeys and natural beauties,
wrongly forgotten by the tourists.
In the typical style of the Amalfitan Coast, The Prince Martin's
villa is surrounded by a large tropical park in wich cicas, bouganville
and other countless tropical and Mediterranean trees and flowers
adorn both the well furnished and large swimming pool 8 by 15 m
made of white Carrara marble, and the characteristic ancestral chapel
set in the rock. Beach Umbrellas, sun beds and deck chairs are around
the swimmingpool and on the garden. |

The villa is built on 3 levels for a total of 600 sqm.
The groundfloor has access from the road below thru a pedestrian
path.
The large entrance gives access to the laundry-ironing room, to
a wine tasting sittingroom with a wine cellar on the back and to
another livingroom with card table and annexed bathroom.
A marble staircase leads up to the first floor where is a 100 sqm
hall made of rose Portuguese, crystalline of Greece marble and Venetian
stuccoes, enriched by authentic gold putties. Out of the hall are
a large kitchen with a hearth, with table and chairs and completely
equipped with refrigerator, freezer, four fires cooker, oven, dishwasher,
microwave, coffee machine, toaster, washer machine and kettle, all
in perfect conditions, a half bath, a larder and a characteristic
small sitting room with direct access to the swimmingpool. |
An
helical staircase inside and a large staircase suspended over the
swimming pool lead to the second floor where four double bedrooms
all with en suite bathroom with bath and shower, elegantly furnished
in eighteenth-century style, can sleep 8 people. The external staircase
leads to the large terrace.
THE BORGO with its porticoes and the imposing noble mansions, characteristic
sign of economical and political power, and the hamlets, still keep
a lot of interesting heritages of their past made of arts, crafts
and commercial activities for which Cava was rightly famous and
appreciated.
The Borgo is not only arts, history and culture. It's also night
and day life; numerous stores, american bars, restaurants and pubs
make this street a place to enjoy and to amuse, among lights and
silent places which give to the ancient Borgo a mysterious and fancy
atmosphere.

Swimming pool ( 15 x 8 meters ) will be open from first of May to
15 October. The staff charged with this task will enter in the Villa
every time it is necessary.
