Sardinia is a beautiful big island in the centre of the Mediterranean, with clear waters that wet a wild coast, somewhere in granite, somewhere with wide and white astounding sandy beaches, so famous worldwide to deserve to be considered an Italian caribbean island.
This fantastic isle has breathtaking beaches at every mile, wet by umpolluted, emerald and turquoise sea waters. Hot in Summer but always with a cool sea breeze to refresh the air, Sardinia is definitely one among the best sea destinations during the good season.
Specially renown is The Costa Smeralda to the North, so called for the emerald (smeralda) colour of its water, every mile of it of uncomparable beauty and harmony.
On the northern border of the Costa Smeralda, just in front of Palau, the seven islands of The Arcipelago of La Maddalena, namely the Island of Maddalena, Caprera, Saint Stefano, Spargi, Budelli, Santa Maria, Razzoli, plus many small rocks between them.
The enchantment of this part of Sardinia, beyond the marvelous uncontaminated sea and nature, comes from the wildness of its granite cliffs.
On the West Coast of Sardinia, beautiful as the whole Island, the Sinis Peninsula encircles the Gulf of Oristano. Less famous than other Sardinian summer places, the Peninsula with its white sand and clean sea water is a good family sea resort.
The village of Funtana Meiga is built at side of Tharros, the Phoenician-Roman town, ruins of which can be visited.
In the South of the Island another impressive area is Santa Margherita di Pula with sandy Chia Baywith high and impressive dunes.
