Narni, considered the
geographic center of Italy, is the typical Umbrian town, which is
able to maintain its own medieval charm, while offering archaeological,
historical, naturalistic and artistic itineraries. |
|
Placed in a high position
facing the suggestive river Nera small canyon, Narni is dominated
by the ancient Albornoz Rock. The town dates back to 600 b.c., but
it became an important town during Middle Age, on XI century, with
several artists who lived and worked there, among them the Ghirlandaio.
Narni deserves an accurate visit, for its special
atmosphere captured strolling along the ancient palaces, the churches
and the towers, the medieval narrow strees with stairs, loggias
and arches. |
