The detached villa is located in a nice complex of villas on the Lake Vico, just 2 km out of the small characteristic town Ronciglione, few km North of Rome.

The House

The house is on two levels. On the groundfloor a large livingroom with fireplace and sofas - one of which is a double sofabed. There are French doors leading to the garden on each side where large patios and lawned areas surround the house.

The spacious well furnished lounge/dining area in the living room has an extending table that seats comfortably 8 persons.

A staircase leads to the first floor that is composed of 2 double and one twin bedrooms, 2 of which have large balconies. All bedrooms have a view of the lake.

The house can comfortably sleep 6 upstairs with sleeping for another 2 persons on the bed settee in lounge.

2 bathrooms with showers are upstairs, and there is also a downstairs half bath with WC and wash basin.

The large modern fitted kitchen has washing machine, dishwasher, double oven, microwave, and espresso machine. The American fridge-freezer has filtered cold water dispenser and ice-maker.

The ample outdoor dining furniture, sun loungers and umbrellas provide a good opportunity to enjoy the sunshine and relax.

Outside are cooking facilities, hot & cold water and the necessary BBQ.

Other bars and restaurants surround the lake within easy walking distance or short car journey. The lake offers a number of alternative facilities, which include sailing, horse riding, canoeing. The lake is stocked with a large variety of fish for those that enjoy angling. Punta Del Lago is central to a number of old and historic towns within the area, most notable are Sutri, Viterbo, and the ancient seaside town of Tarquinia with over 3000 years of Etruscan history. Ronciglione offers excellent shopping facilities and the beautiful town of Sutri fascinating sightseeing and historical interest. Rome is about 1 hour drive away, or can be reached via local buses and trains.

Lake Vico

The pure waters of Lake Vico fill the volcanic crater that mythology purports was created by Hercules's Club.The shores of the lake offer an amazing image of wilderness and impressive solitude. Motorboats are forbidden, therefore the lake is totally dedicated to swimming, fishing, surfing, sailing and canoeing.

Countryside

Cimini's hills are located in the centre of the Tuscia Viterbese and extend up to 1000m. The paths that lead into the picturesque woods offer a wonderful opportunity for hiking and horse riding. The area is a local nature reserve and park land, and it is possible to enjoy direct contact with nature still unspoiled.

History

The Punta del Lago Village is situated on the Via Francigena that connects Rome with Canterbury. It was a classic itinerary, and used to be travelled by thousands of pilgrims leading to Rome. Ronciglione and Vico's lake were the important stops for the pilgrims
