Formerly a hunting
residence, the 18th century Castle consists of two blocks: two linked
buildings exact replicas of one another. One of the blocks is a
350 sqm holiday house with private swimmingpool, and the other twin
is the residence of the owners of the estate. Both residences are
in full privacy.
The buildings to the right house two families working on the estate
as well as the stables, the granary, the watchtower and an apartment
for holiday rental: La Casa Del Buttero.
The rural Hamlet with its Middle Age scenery, envelops the visitor
while walking in the court. Out the massive door, the castle is
surrounded by woods, olive groves and vineyards, affording shade
in the summer months and privacy all year round.
Wild boar, porcupines, roebucks, tortoises, birds and badgers live
undisturbed in the undergrowth of this estate.
The whole appears very rural and relaxing. |

In the hamlet, just in face of the
Castle , a second apartment, formerly home of one of the Butteri
(the cattlesmen) has been restored and converted to become a holiday
apartment.
This charming apartment in the hamlet is very large and snag. It
has a nice furnished small terrace overlooking the courtyard.

A private garden with lawns and views, a 9x4m swimming
pool with deck terrace, make this unit being something more than
a simple apartment but most likely a small villa with pool.
Furnished with family antiques and comfortable soft sofas, the Tuscan
environment with the large fireplace, the wood beamed ceilings and
the original cotto flooring will make you dreaming of other times,
when the country style life was lapsing around the hearth in the
kitchen.

Nearest shopping plus bank, bar and post office at the bottom of
the hill - 1 km.
In the immediate vicinity there are a couple of excellent restaurants
specializing in local country fare.
The Buttero home is just one kilometer from the
nearest town center and 10 kilometers from the enchanting hilltop
villages of Capalbio and Albinia. In the vicinities of the fief,
undiscovered jewel such as several Archeological Etruscan sites
and the charming villages Manciano and Pitigliano are in easy reach. |
