The
wine-producing estate, which has been in the family of Count Emo
Capodilista since the 11th century, lies nestled into the first
risings of the fabulously beautiful Euganean hills, 15 km to the
south-west of the medieval city of Padova. Whithin the castle, which
is surrounded by vineyards and a 27 hole golf course, a B&B-suite
of superior quality can be rented, minimum stay is 2 nights. This
property, lies in the Veneto region, 15 kms south of Padua on the
border of a regional park - the Eugenean |
hills -
within easy reach of the famous historic villas of the Veneto, many
of them built by the great Italian architect Andrea Palladio, as
well as the northern Italian cities of Venice, Vicenza, Verona,
Mantua, Rovigo and the Lake district.
The immediate surroundings, for instance Este, Monselice, Montagnana
and Arquà Petrarca, or the impressive abbey of Praglia, still
within sight of La Montecchia, offer a cornucopia of cultural sights. |
