Sicily, both for the climate and the proximity to the Tunisian coast.
This part of the country boasts some of the most extensive olive

| The
best sandy beach of the area is on the nearby coast " Eraclea
Minoa".

offering hand painted local pottery can be purchased at the shopping
centre for reasonable price (1 mile away) few good restaurants are
within a short distance.
Throughout alleys and little squares of the port area and the town
center there are many restaurants, all specialized with delicious
(sea-)food. Winding stairways, narrow little streets and alleys,
window are filled with the inevitable geraniums.
The real heart of the town centre is steeped in history and ancient
architecture of Moorish, and baroque style, ancient alleyways and
courtyards. A labyrinth of houses and streets, some of which can
be narrow enough to fit only a single person at a time.
Gelato lovers take note: The "granita" in Sciacca is widely
regarded as one of the best in Italy, other sciacca desserts are
cassata, cannoli with ricotta cheese and finally arancini (rice
balls with ragù sauce).
Sciacca is a very safe place you can go anywhere for a good night,
you will find locals warm and friendly.
In addition to the indented coastline, Sciacca has also a gentle
healthy climate which makes it an ideal place for health cures thermal
spa complex and public pool with hot water. The thermal Piscine,
costs the princely sum of € 5 for a day.
Less than 2 miles from the property, at the end of the road, Monte
Kronio with its natural steam and a spectacular view of mountains
and the Mediterranean Sea.
Regional bus service in Sciacca provides regular connections for
Palermo, Trapani and Agrigento which can be reached in less than
two hours. The train service is very poor.
A car is needed to visit the most important sites and monuments
of the island, since the most famous are spread around the island,
and the different areas each have their own unique attractions.
