The Mount Serro, part of the Cinqueterre, lies
between Framura and Deiva Marina. On the coast the impressing cliffs
of Alpicchi give place to a long beach followed by an inlet in the
green of the rank woods and finally by a riff with big cushions
made of red volcanic rock.
|
A
Framura village in principle does not exist.
It is the aggregation of the five distinct districts of Anzo,
Ravecca, Setta, Costa and Castagnola,
some of them seaside and the others on the steep mountainside that
sharply falls into the marvelous sea.
Getting away from the coast on the mountainside landscapes of infinite
pleasantness accompany the walks on the ancient mule track - very
difficult stony roads - which connects the five districts, through
pinewoods and Mediterranean bush.
|
 |
 |
Anzo
keeps still today intact its character as small intimate seaside
resort for the people of Genoa in the beginning of the last century.
Ravecca is a medieval village and Costa is
rich of archaeological historical and artistic cues - in Setta
and Costa to be mentioned the IX century Carolingian
watchtowers against the Saracens incursions, which represent a charming
attestation of ancient military architecture -. |
Framura
has a pebbles beach and a pretty small port looking like a postcard
with its fishers boats and a bar-restaurant that in the evening
becomes a dancing too.
Many interesting tourist paths leads
on the mount Serra, on the upper region and to Deiva.A tennis court is available in the village.
Monte Serra lies within the Cinque Terre nature reserve and its natural Mediterranean bush.
Levanto and Bonassola are 12 km far with all sort of summer entertainments.

EAT PARADE
Liguria region is reknowned for its excellent cooking and the cuisine of Framura is typical of the region, for its special mix of seafood and meat with vegetables traditions. We recommend that guests try the Trenette or Trofie al Pesto, kinds of pasta dressed with a fantastic basil and pineseeds sauce, made with the excellent local olive oil, and the Focaccia, sort of pizza instead of bread, the Ravioli with borrage filling and the typical Baccalà (dryed cod). Very good wines accompany the simple but tasty meal.
Close to sea and mountain, in a land of great suggestion, easy to visit and enjoy in a shortwhile, the choice of Ferra Mula is perfectly suitable for those who want a true taste of Italy within easy reach.
