A few km out of Florence in the Chianti Classic Area, 6 Km about from Grassina, among olive groves and vineyards, lies on a hill the imposing Castel Ruggero.
The Castle, a former convent, is a huge squared simple structure of the 16th century enlarged in the 18th century, with an eccentric tower with a Ghibelline crenelate - fruit of the restorations in the 19th century - overlooking the well cared and awesome Italian Garden.

This is one of the few that maintained the original structures in the course of the centuries, made of rectangular flower-beds with roses and lawns encircled one inside the other by boxwood hedges.
The 12 x 5 m swimmingpool is 3 m deep.
The Castle overlooks a breathtaking view along the whole valley, in an ideal position for walks in the beautiful rural countryside.

It is very large, so today is divided into 3 parts: one part hosts a welknown wine cellar, another is lived by the owner and the third, in full privacy, is available for holiday rental.

Greve, the centre of Chianti Gallo Nero is 10 kms away, San Gimignano and many other picturesque villages in short distance and in general the Castle is strategically positioned for quick excursions to Florence, Siena, Pisa, and all the other important Tuscan sites.

Ideal for walks, Riding and mountain bike rides, with the convenience of starting treks from right outside the house. 5 mins walking away is a lake surrounded by ancient, fascinating woodland, with clear, clean and cool water.
One of Italy's most famous golf clubs, the Ugolino, is just 2 km far.
