in an area of great interest, for the presence of the Laguna
dello Stagnone only 1600 mt far. The beach is only 3 km
far.
The property has that particular country flavour for its style.
The cart, a chaise, a small pool, reserve of water for irrigation,
the plough, the wine casks and a collection of old working tools
in perfect conditions are the touches that bring minds to the past.

The lagoon is a beautiful start to
explore the surroundings, such as the salines with windmills and
Motia, what remains of the famous Etruscan town. Swimming is possible
in the Lagoon too

The property is a comfortable two bedrooms (triple and double) cosy villa, a genuine Sicilian farm-house with that unique italian rustic farmhouse style, close to the famous town of Marsala. Country style furniture and one bathroom only (sorry!) but in general very well equipped.
The area is well known worldwide for its homonym delicious strong wine similar to the Port wine, the Marsala D.O.C.

The large kitchen will be the perferct spot to enjoy cooking high quality local food or roasting it at the fireplace. Copper pots and saucepans, all cutlery and what necessary in the kitchen are available for a pleasant and confortable stay. The kitchen is also the livingroom, with a double sofabed on one side. |

The outdoor pond, in an palmtrees area, is attended by various courtyard animals, such as ducks, chickens, peacocks and geese.
Olive, palm and pinetrees all around the property. The town of Marsala is only 3 km away and only 30 km is the distance from to the mystical ancient cities of Erice and Segesta.

A great holiday can be enjoyed dining "al fresco", repairing from sunburn under the Incannucciata, the typical outdoor South-Italian straw porch.
The outside space is equipped with beach tables, chairs and deck chairs.

Experience spending time in a land of suggestions;an evocative small chapel can be visited in complete privacy, as it is inside the house.
Unmissable spots to be visited in South Sicily will certainly be the town of Marsala, with its salines and windmills, marsala wine producers sites, as well as ancient Erice and Segesta, but also the Egadi Islands (Favignana and Levanzo).
Take the hydrofoil from Marsala port and be there in 20 minutes time. The small islands are well known for their nature and for their crystalline waters, certifyed by the European Blue Flag. |

can also visit the beauful Motia island, 2 km away, the beaches
at 3 km, and enjoy the unique sights of S.Maria and Isola Lunga.
All shopping facilities are available at short distances such as
bank, supermarket, restaurants, pizza, fresh food and coffee bars.

Ask for the granita and brioche in the morning; it is a specialty
only prepared in Sicily for a refreshing breakfast. Italian fresh
sweet pastry and a grated iced coffee or blended iced fruit is a
pleasure that should not be missed.
However Sicily is famous for its delicious recipes, for seafood
and the marzapane cakes; some mediterranean specialties remind to
the best north african cooking, accordingly revised to the italian
taste.

The legend says that in 1773 a rich
Liverpool merchant, John Woodhouse,after a terrible storm, finally
landed safely in the port of Marsala. He wanted to reward the
crew for their hard work and bough all the strong local wine,
called Perpetuum. He decided to add more alcool to ensure conservation
and the final wine was greatly appreciated.
The special Marsala formula and the Sicilian sun give the wine that special unmistakably taste, impossibile to imitate.
The guests of THE SICILIAN CART will have the chance to go and visit some genuine Marsala producers of the surroundings.
